Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice’s “Joseph & The Amazing Technicolor Dreamboat” will be presented by 5 Star Theatricals (formerly Cabrillo Music Theatre). Dates are October 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21 and 22, 2017. Featuring Laura Dickinson, Adam Hollick and Patrick Cassidy, the musical will feature direction by Will North (Managing Director of 5 Star Theatricals), choreography by hip-hop master Dave Scott and musical direction by Cassie Nickols. Starring Patrick Cassidy and Laura Dickinson. Dan Redfeld will conduct the Joesph Orchestra.

The timeless classic, Peter Pan, will be presented by Cabrillo Music Theatre. Dates are July 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21 and 22, 2017. Featuring Carly Bracco, Gregory North, Sarah Miller-Crews and a cast of 35, the musical will feature direction by Yvette Lawremce, choreography by Cheryl Baxter, music direction by Dan Redfeld, who also conducts the Peter Pan orchestra. Orchestrations by Craig Barna.

Center Theatre Group’s 50th Anniversary Celebration to feature two new arrangements by Dan Redfeld

Los Angeles’ Center Theatre Group will be celebrating its 50th anniversary on May 20 in a star-studded gala at the Ahmanson Theatre. As part of the musical theatre portion of the evening, Dan Redfeld has been asked to provide new arrangement/orchestrations for “Feeling Good” from The Roar of the Greasepaint – The Smell of the Crowd and “Seasons of Love” from Rent. Both selections will be featured alongside music from The Phantom of the Opera. Gypsy, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and a new overture arranged and orchestrated by Larry Blank for the evening. The Ahmanson Theatre orchestra will be featured on stage and conducted by Richard Kaufman. Mr. Redfeld will also be playing principal keyboard for the event.

It features Dan Redfeld as piano soloist performing brand new arrangements created specifically for this release by Mr. Redfeld from the original score manuscripts. It’s a testament to the creative genius of the late James Horner and features music from Star Trek II: The Wrath of Kahn, Braveheart, Titanic, The Rocketeer, Cocoon and several other themes from Horner’s greatest scores.

Dan Redfeld’s “Fantasy for Violin and Piano” will be featured on a chamber concert with violinist Elizabeth Hedman and pianist Robert Thies. Presented by Village Concerts, the program also features works by Beethoven, Debussy and Franck.

The Fantasy was composed in 2008 for Ms. Hedman & Mr. Thies, who gave its premier in 2009. The work was recorded in 2011 and will be released later this year.

The Secret Garden at the Tutor Center for the Performing Arts

Dan Redfeld has begun rehearsals for Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman’s musical adaptation of The Secret Garden. Based on Frances Hodgson Burnett‘s 1911 novel, “The Secret Garden” was nominated for 7 Tony Awards, winning 3, and features the hit songs “How Could I Ever Know?”, “Hold On”, “A Bit of Earth” and “Lily’s Eyes”.

“The Secret Garden” will be presented by the Chaminade Players March 10, 11, 12, 17, 18 & 19 at the Tutor Center for the Performing Arts. Directed by Yvette Bishop (Beauty and the Beast, Blood Brothers) with musical direction by Dan Redfeld and choreography by Bill Burns.

Dan Redfeld & the LA Film Conducting Intensive at the Eastwood Scoring Stage

Dan Redfeld will be participating as a fellow in the 1st Annual Los Angeles Film Conducting Intensive. The four-day workshop will take place January 12 – 15 at the legendary Eastwood Scoring Stage on the Warner Bros. lot and will be led by LAFCI instructors David Newman, Conrad Pope, William Ross and Angel Velez.

Dan will conduct his original cue, Swashbuckler, on the final day with a 62-piece studio orchestra.
